The static protective elements in CROHMIQ® fabrics are inherent to the fabric structure and do not degrade with age, repeated use or reconditioning. CROHMIQ® fabrics are compatible with the requirements of ISO 21898 and are used to construct standard-duty reuseable FIBC (FIBC designed and intended to be used for a limited number of fillings and discharges).

There are some simple steps to ensure end-users get the most use from CROHMIQ Static Protective Type D FIBC, without compromising safety:

Reduce Reuse Recycle

  • Handling, storage and transportation: there are no special requirements for CROHMIQ FIBC, just follow the “FIBC Safe Handling Guidelines” published by FIBC, available in English, Spanish and French.

  • Provided these normal storage guidelines are followed, CROHMIQ fabrics have an indefinite shelf-life.

  • Dry-air cleaning can be used: remove residue from previous fillings from both inside and outside of the bag.

  • Water-washing, either with water jets or washing machines, can be used:

  • when jet washing, remove residue from previous fillings from both inside and outside of the bag;
  • when using washing machines, leave spouts untied and check that no residue from previous fillings is left inside the bag;
  • rinse the FIBC thoroughly to remove any detergent that may have been used;
  • FIBC must be completely dry before repacking for reuse.

  • Only replace inner liners with the correct Type L2 inner liners as specified in IEC 61340-4-4.

  • Minor patch repairs can be made, but only using patch materials tested and approved by Texene.

  • Heavily damaged or contaminated FIBC should be set aside for recycling.

  • In addition to the FIBC manufacturing date required by ISO 21898, it is also recommended to include a refurbishment number or other ID mark on the FIBC label. Using this and other qualification criteria, the end-user can predetermine the maximum number of refurbishing cycles they will allow, or a maximum time period after the manufacturing date in which use, refurbishing and reuse is allowed.
